Switch 2 brioche tutorial stuck: the reported workaround

The short answer

For the Switch 2 Atelier lock after adding flour, one player reports finishing the tutorial with original Switch Joy-Con controllers. This is a reported workaround, not a guaranteed fix. The developer acknowledged Joy-Con mouse issues and said a patch was in submission on October 15.

Match the symptom first

The report describes the night-time brioche tutorial: flour is added, then normal controller buttons stop advancing the recipe while a constrained mouse cursor can still appear. That is more specific than getting a low recipe score or not knowing an ingredient amount.

Try the reported controller alternative if available

  1. If you already own compatible original Switch Joy-Con controllers, use them wirelessly with Switch 2 instead of Joy-Con 2.
  2. Return to the affected Atelier step and check whether ingredient selection and recipe progress respond.
  3. If they still do not, stop treating the workaround as successful. Keep your save rather than starting an entirely new game on an unproven assumption.

Check patch status without assuming it is fixed

The developer-tagged reply says a patch was submitted. Submission and release are different states. Check current game updates and the linked discussion for a released version addressing the issue. We have not verified an installed patched build.

What did not establish a fix

The original player says a restart did not resolve the blocking brioche step, and that mouse mode had already been disabled in the console settings. Neither repeated restarts nor toggling that setting should be sold as a confirmed solution.
