Emotion mazes: deal with fire and tidal waves
You do not need to rush a customer emotion maze to keep the shop queue moving: the service timer pauses. Wait on a safe tile through fire hazards, and use a nearby recess to limit how far a tidal wave pushes you.
Check which kind of challenge you are in
These tips cover the small emotion mazes entered during customer service. They are not a complete route through Estelle’s, Mawuli’s or another character’s larger Heart Palace.
Wait through the fire cycle
Watch the floor for fire spots beginning to grow. Stay on an unaffected tile while the hazard resolves, then continue toward the route out. If you are burned, use the displayed recovery action; the tutorial explains that a mistake costs time rather than requiring a new game.
Use corners against the wave
When a wave approaches, move into a nearby nook so a wall limits the push. Do not commit to a long exposed corridor just before the wave arrives. Once it passes, resume the route. Sometimes the push helps movement in the direction you need; use that only when you can see where it will send you.
Finish the objective before leaving
Avoiding one hazard is only a local success. Continue until the maze’s completion transition returns you to service. For large Heart Palace puzzles, a generic “follow the emotion” tip is not a substitute for a room-specific solution; this wiki covers Estelle’s first story barrier, not a complete palace route.
